Gan Ainm Plays the Grand Opening of Muddy Murphy's
Although the new Muddy Murphy's has been "softly" opened now for months, the time has come to open it hard - officially that is - with an hour of free booze! Then, once all that free booze has settled safely into your bloodstreams and ours, we have been tasked with entertaining you all for a few hours. This should be fun! We'll be playing tomorrow (Thursday 16 Jan) from 9pm till late - we'll see you all down there for a pint or three at 7pm!

New Gan Ainm - New Muddy Murphy's
In Singapore, nothing stays the same very long. People here are as transient as the buildings and landmarks they frequent. So it shouldn't really come as a surprise that Muddy Murphy's, an Irish institution in Singapore, has had to move with the tides to a new shinier home at TripleOne Somerset, right next to Somerset MRT. To mark the occasion, Gan Ainm, with its shiny new members, will play the band's first gig in 6 months at the new Muddy Murphy's next Friday, 29th November at 9pm. Come down and celebrate with us, an occasion so momentous, that it is sure to mark a new chapter in your social lives.

Gan Ainm Return
It's been a year marked by change. The band has been undergoing a transition over the last six months. Miles, Alex and Nev have moved on and we have three brand spanking new members. We have been busy working away in the studio for the last few months revamping our setlist to work with the new lineup and adding a few new songs to our repertoire. We will be unveiling all this at our first gig in over six months later this month. The first of many more to come over the next few months. Watch this space for further details of when and where. In the meantime, get better acquainted with the new Gan Ainm here.

All change.... goodbye to the Disclaiming duo, hello to the newbies!
Well, there is no easy way to put it, but Gan Ainm are bidding farewell to guitarist Miles McLean and fiddler Alexander Gow...Miles had decided during the fun but incredibly hectic St. Pat's week this year that he wanted to break away and spend more time with his family and on other projects - the last gig we played was actually his leaving gig, but not being one for being fussed over he requested we made no official announcement on the night.
As for Alex, until last week he was all ready to continue... and then he got himself a proper job! Unfortunately the nature of the job and the hours meant that he felt obliged to leave the band, or risk holding it back. As he will be managing a certain pub known well to Gan Ainm and their followers, it seems likely that he will be seen on the fiddle and mandola again in various capacities - maybe even guesting with the new lineup of Gan Ainm at some point in the future!
So it is farewell to two of the longest serving members of the band.... but welcome to two newbies!
With Miles leaving Iggy has graduated from bass to guitar, and in his place we now have a new bassist... and in addition the band is introducing a new vocalist and front man in the form of Belfast boy Paul McCracken. Rehearsals with the two are going great, with the lads preparing for a private gig for the wedding of Eoin (the squeezebox player) at the start of July, which will be Alex's last proper gig with the band.....
As for after that? Stay tuned for further announcements.... abnormal service will be resumed shortly!
